Chautauqua Institution

Just a short 15-minute drive from lodging at Barcelona Lakeside Inn Bed & Breakfast, from late June to late August, a small year-round community of about 300 people swells to embrace tens of thousands who come to learn, be inspired by and share the experience that is Chautauqua Institution. Founded 135 years ago, interfaith lecture series, fine arts performances and world-renowned speakers now come every summer to Chautauqua for nine weeks to entertain and enlighten. Each week is themed and features lectures and performances that fit the theme.
